The Yunus Emre Institute started its work in 2009. There are 58 cultural centers around the world that, in addition to teaching Turkish language, support Turkish language and literature departments at universities as well as teaching Turkish language at other cultural institutions. The institute organizes many activities aimed at promoting Turkish culture and art and represents Turkey at national or international events.
